The grass is stretched, fixed at the perimeter, seamed with proper jointing tape and dressed with silica sand. On free-draining chalk this build drains beautifully — puddling problems are rare here if the base is right.
Cheap installs skip the Type 1 layer and lay onto whacked soil. It looks identical on handover day and entirely different after the first wet winter.
